Project 511 Story

Project 511 was born as an idea, triggered by a need. A research on Government schools in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district unearthed the plight faced by the lesser privileged students who lacked access to even the basic necessities such as blackboards, toilets and notebooks in schools. The unfortunate state of these schools not only led to a severely compromised quality of education, but also resulted in high dropout rates.

We envision a nation in which young children can pursue quality education in order to reach their full potential and contribute to local communities and the world.

Through each project, we aim to make a small transformation in the lives of children in low-income communities by focusing on accessibility to educational materials.

Working in close collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and local government bodies, we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.

The need for a healthy and holistic environment led Hyderabad Round Table No. 8 (HRT 8) and M.V.Foundation to join hands and work towards a common cause. During the time, the number of schools in Hyderabad district was 511 and thus, on 27th October 2003, Project 511 was born. Since its inception, Project 511 has worked closely with the Government to improve the quality of education among lesser privileged children. We currently work with 1022 schools currently and have impacted the lives of more than 200,000 children since we began.

Every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn

What We Do

Who are we?

We're people from across the country, from diverse industries, who share the same passion for enabling education. Taking the best practices from our diverse disciplines, we live our values by impacting the lives of the children we work with.

Education is a fundamental pillar in the fight against poverty and the promotion of equality, freedom and the development of communities, as it gives each child the tools and knowledge they need to earn a living with dignity in the future. All of our programs are created to amplify rather than displace the efforts of governmental bodies. Each project is executed with the vision to not only reach as many aspiring students as possible, but also to create a sustainable model of education that can easily be adopted by government schools.

Our Vision

Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to learn. We strive to create an education friendly environment in Government schools so that the children can benefit from the basic necessities often taken for granted by the rest of the world.

Our Mission

We are committed to improving the quality of education in government schools by offering the amenities necessary to create a holistic learning environment.

Round Table (HRT8 & RTI)

Formed in 1962, Round Table India is a part of the Round Table International, which is a fellowship and community charitable organisation founded by Louis Marchesi. Starting off with a membership of just 100 people, Round Table India has expanded to have more than 5000 members working across 300 plus Tables spread all over the country. Aiming to achieve its prime objective, "Freedom Through Education", and intending to make quality education accessible to underprivileged children, Round Tables all over India have started to adopt projects that strived to provide good quality infrastructure to the underdeveloped schools. Their efforts have significantly impacted more than 7 million school-going underprivileged children across the nation. www.roundtableindia.org

A member of the Round Table India, Hyderabad Round Table 8 (HRT8) was inaugurated on November 22, 1965 and chartered on December 3, 1996. While being engaged in realising their objectives, Hyderabad Round Table 8 came together with the MV Foundation in the year 2003 to provide basic infrastructural aid to the then 511 government schools existing in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, thus giving birth to the constructive initiative named Project 511.
